Texas law does not require a facility to hand a prospective resident its inspection history unprompted, but that history is public and available through HHSC. Ask directly for a copy, or pull it yourself through HHSC's Complaint and Incident Intake line before you tour.
What this means in practice
Because disclosure isn't automatic, the burden falls on families to ask -- and a facility's willingness to produce its own record quickly and without hesitation is itself a useful signal. If a marketing director deflects, changes the subject, or promises to follow up later with something you could have pulled yourself in a five-minute phone call, treat that as information. Pair whatever the facility tells you with your own independent check through HHSC rather than relying solely on what's presented on a tour, and specifically ask about any Type B units if your parent's needs might eventually require that tier of licensing.
